Friday April 29

Thank you in advance to everyone who will be able to contribute some baking to our Book and Bake sale on Tuesday morning. All of the children visited another classroom in the Infants School this week to explain to the classes about our sale. The children worked hard to set up our classroom as a book shop and bakery and are looking forward to their role as “cashiers” on Tuesday.

On Wednesday, we had a very successful field trip to the ‘Tampines Eco Green’. The trip helped us to learn more about what a habitat is and what kinds of animals and plants live in the habitats close to our school. We observed the plants, trees, and animals as we walked around the nature trails. Back at school we created a “See, Think, Wonder” on the board to note down our thoughts and wonderings. The children also created a book using the Book Creator app about the trip. A big thank you to the parents who accompanied us.

In Maths we have been investigating how to tell the time and how to count coins. Thank you to everyone who sent in some coins for us to count. The children are enjoying handling real money!

In Literacy we are exploring characters and their traits as well as writing stories. We have been reading and listening to author Robert Munsch tell funny stories which include a lot of repetition and sound effects. We have attempted to tell and write our own stories using repetition and sound effects. Here is a link to Robert Munsch’s web page where you can click on one of his books and listen to him tell it. He is a great storyteller!
