Week 3 in 1LJe

Our week started off with a fantastic assembly led by Mr Wilcox. Rudelle, Milana and Rocco had starring roles as frogs in the story, 'It's Mine', by Leo Lionni. The story and the assembly had an important message. Can you remember it?

This Week in Unit of Study we have been thinking about the 'needs and wants' of a community. Can you explain the meanings of these words to your parents and tell them some examples for each one? Think about the discussions you had with your partner during our 'needs and wants' sorting activity.

During the week, 1 LJe take some time to include mindfulness into our daily activities. We enjoy listening to the 'Relax Kids' stories. A 'breathing buddy' can help us to relax and focus on our breathing. If you have a soft toy at home that you would like to use for this please bring it in to school. In this photograph Signe is using Fluffy, one of our class pets.

Here are a few more photographs from our week. We have worked hard on a range of activities in class. The playground is great fun too!

Please check out the Kids Up Front page on our blog to find out more about how we will learn about celebrations this year. I can't wait to start this. We will learn so much from each other!

Finally, don't forget to share your Poetry Anthology with your parents. Please feel free to add to the collection.

Have a super weekend everyone. I look forward to hearing all about it during Morning Meeting on Monday.
