Week 12 in 1LJe

We have had another exciting week filled with fun and learning! On Monday, Mr Wilcox led an assembly dedicated to the unseen heroes of the school. Tamami and Felix presented a beautiful portrait to Mr Leong, who works so hard keeping our school clean and tidy. You will be able to see this portrait on display very soon in the Infant School as part of a 'Wall of Heroes'.

This week we finished off our Measurement unit by measuring different parts of our body. We had lots of fun working with a partner and trying to measure as accurately as we could using rulers and tape measures. Can you tell your parents some of the new things that you have found out about measurement? 

Our 'My Body' unit is now well underway. Everyone has lots of questions about the human body and we are going to try to answer as many as we can!  We used non-fiction books to find out about the bones that we have in our body and what they are called. Which ones can you remember? Can you explain to your parents why we have a skeleton? 

One of the highlights of the week was our trip to Forest Adventure. The class had an amazing time climbing through the tree tops and whizzing down the zip line. Everyone demonstrated a huge amount of confidence and resilience. It was wonderful to see the children cheering on their class mates. When we got back to school we wrote some lovely poems all about our fantastic experience at the Forest Adventure.

On Friday, Arhanth from 1MLN told the class the story of Diwali. He made a lovely presentation which included his own drawings. Then we made Diwali cards as gifts for the residents of Happy Lodge.
